Los Angeles singer-songwriter and Santa Monica street performer Andy Grammer, who released the hit singles “Keep Your Head Up” and “Fine By Me” in 2011, has a date set for Feb. Only age 28, Eldredge has opened up for country superstars like Taylor Swift and Brad Paisley. Illinois country singer Brett Eldredge, known for his hit 2013 singles “Don’t Ya” and “Beat of the Music,” is scheduled to perform Feb. If you didn’t catch Ayala and the band at San Manuel Casino in Highland on Nov. Legendary Norteño musician Ramon Ayala y sus Bravos del Norte are set to headline the festival Feb. Every time I read or hear that rock is dead I always want to yell and say groups like these (and many others) prove it is not. I’ve managed to see most of the bands at the yearly Vans Warped Tour in Pomona and I think all have amazing energy, stage presence and lots of talent (just stay out of the pit if you don’t want to get trampled). Many of these bands have performed at the Vans Warped Tour, with Falling In Reverse, The Devil Wears Prada, The Ghost Inside and Real Friends all on the bill last year.
Joining the post-hardcore groups are Christian metalcore’s The Devil Wears Prada, melodic hardcore’s The Ghost Inside, pop punk’s Real Friends as well as Whitechapel, Stick To Your Guns, PVRIS and The Amity Affliction. The Self-Help Festival recently announced a portion of its lineup with heavyweights like Pierce The Veil, Sleeping With Sirens, Falling In Reverse and others set to perform March 7 at the National Orange Show.
If you’re looking for some post-hardcore punk therapy after all that infectious holiday music, a San Bernardino based-music festival has some of the genre’s finest.
